Is your kitty a kitty litter user? Has kitty ever suddenly stopped using the litter tray?

There are many reasons for a cat to change their toilet behaviour, but clearly they are suffering some sort of stress.

Think about what may have changed recently in the home. Is there a new pet? Have you moved a table, a chair, even a rug? Have you introduced a new fragrance to the home?

Any of these things (and many more) can cause kitty to have toilet issues. The trick is, it’s up to us humans to find out what, where, why and how.

After careful consideration, if you can think of absolutely no reason kitty is no longer using the kitty litter tray, please consult your Vet. I don’t want to put the fear of God into you, but the Vet needs to eliminate a UTI (Urinary Tract Infection), Diabetes or a number of other possible medical reasons.

The likelihood is kitty isn’t unwell – it’s just a matter of moving the chair back to where it was originally located, or moving the plant back to the window. So give that a go and if no positive changes in kitty litter usage is noted, off to the Vet kitty goes.
